Welcome to the Poor Boy Restaurant website, located in Kankakee, IL. Poor Boy Restaurant is a family owned business that started in 1985 at the original location of 1514 East Court Street in Kankakee. We are proud to serve the Kankakee and surrounding areas with good customer service and quality food, which we strived for from the start. Now in 2011, we are excited to announce our expansion to a second location on the west side of Kankakee, located at 1515 West Court Street.

If you like lemon chicken rice soup this is the place to go! They also have delicious garlic fries. The prices are very reasonable the dining area is always clean and the waitstaff is very friendly. We love stopping at poor boy too!!

Fantastic gyros and surprisingly fantastic salads. Good prices. They also have great Chicago dogs and Polish sausage and pizza puffs and burgers and really delicious French fries. The only complaint that I could even think about would be their lack of selection for beverage. Otherwise amazing restaurant.

Great place for gyros or other assorted greasy food. There after some lighter options on the menu but the menu had lots of junk food too. In my experience the good is always fresh and a good value. It's not gourmet dining by any stretch of the imagination but the food is good.

They are friendly and efficient. The Greek salads are fresh and delicious. They provide pita bread with the salad. Prices are right. When I am in the area on business, this is my joint to get good food.

Known more for gyros and quick, often fried type foods, but they have so much more. They really have a large menu, lots of salads, wraps, deli sandwiches, fish, burgers, gyros, Italian beef/sausage, ribs, wings,, ect. Plenty of healthy options as well as those good comfort greasy food options. Everyone can find something to eat here.
